Although the day before the Democratic primary is important for all the candidates, September 10th has an extra special meaning for mayoral candidate Minch Lewis and his wife Judy – it is their 35th wedding anniversary!

Minch and Judy met in college, where they were both Student Body Presidents at their respective universities.   Two days after their wedding, they moved to Syracuse, to 205 Rigi Avenue to be exact, and Minch began graduate school at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Public Administration.

35 years, two daughters, and eight campaigns later, they are still going strong.  And they still live in the same house in Eastwood.

“My sister and I decided that the best anniversary present we could give our parents was to help with the campaign.”  Both Kristin and Cara spent much of Saturday and Sunday making phone calls, distributing literature, and knocking on doors.

Minch and Judy plan on spending their anniversary as they have spent much of their time in the past few months – knocking on doors.

When asked what would be the best anniversary present, the Lewis’ responded, “Winning the primary.”
